On – going matters:
Downtown Project –
· Punchlist with Mr. Lou DeGrandpre, VanDyke Construction – VanDyke Construction has been in town and should complete the punchlist items by the end of next week.
Recycling Bay – Recycling Bay update – Selectmen discussed the walls are framed, as well as the building layout. Discussion followed regarding Franks intentions for storing items, baling etc. Selectmen would like Mr. Pelkey to discuss this with them to allow them a clear understanding of what space will be used and how it will be used. No decisions were made at this time.
Cemetery Stonewall – no acknowledgement from Mr. Hudson to date – certified letter was returned, phones are disconnected. Deb will get together with Chief Giammarino and try to contact Mr. Hudson. Deb spoke with Bob Plourde regarding being unable to contact Mr. Hudson.
Meeting House Cleaning – Selectmen discussed the cleaning proposal from the church. Deb reported that she has spoken with John McGurty, who indicated if the Town was not satisfied with the work he would like to be notified. He however concerned that though the floors look good now, if they are not buffed and waxed weekly they will revert back to how they looked when McGurty took over. There has been no price increase in two years. As far as the stripping floors that are done once a year, that type of “maintenance” would be a cleaning up of what doesn’t get done weekly. More work, and probably more expensive in the long run. Liability insurance is another concern, does the Church or the Town take that over, if the Town takes it over we would need to add a custodian to our
workers comp. insurance policy. Unless the church provides a Certificate of Insurance, the Town incurs the expense. Mr. McGurty did say whatever the town wanted he would honor, but he did have some concerns as far as quality of the cleaning. He feels proud of the job they do and again, if we were not satisfied he would like that addressed rather than lose the job. Discussion followed, no decision was made, Brooks & Dumas agree they would like to have all three Selectmen make a decision regarding this.

Old Lyndeborough Mtn. Rd – Tracy Boisvert, NHDES looked at the road this past week. Ms. Boisvert doesn’t feel there are any wetlands issues. She believes it to be a town matter. Mr. Hennessey indicated to her he didn’t do the bulk of the work. He alleged he only did a little work, as was instructed by his Board of Selectmen in Lyndeborough to remain compliant with his variance from the Town of Lyndeborough. The slides & minutes will be forwarded to Ms. Boisvert. It is strongly felt the wetlands have been disturbed. Karen Day spoke with Bill Thompson again; he will take another look at the road. The Selectmen will have Town Counsel address the matter of working on a town road with Mr. Hennessey, as well as with the Lyndeborough Selectmen. Action will be taken,
however to what extent has not yet been determined. The Road does need to be repaired.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:00 pm. There will not be a meeting next week due to the voting on the Conval Teacher Contracts. The next scheduled Selectmen’s Meeting is Thursday, July 15, at 6:00 pm.
